The Superbowl and Our Anniversary....

Good evening! Today is a very special day. Its our anniversary AND its the superbowl. Pretty cool if you ask me. I told Mike he had to make a decision between me and football. It's a good thing that I'm such a sweet wife and let him watch the game :-) Actually I love football and have been very excited this year because the Saints are playing for the first time ever. This household loves the Cowboys but we ARE from Louisiana and have to root for the Saints. I'm also reading The Pioneer Woman and learning how to operate my camera. I'm multi-tasking like that plus she is awesome and I wish I lived like her - except for the homeschooling part! If you've never read her blog - you must. She is very funny.

Anyway, today is 12 years that Mike and I have been married. Sometimes I still can't believe it. A lot has happened in the last year of our marriage. I was laid off from my job and was able to spend the summer with our kiddos. And now working part time -I am loving every minute of it and I think it has made our marriage better with me being home more for the kids.

Today Chad & Jenny taught a marriage lesson. It was excellent and as we left I thanked God that today was the day they taught. Mike and I discussed the lesson as we came home from church today and I'm so thankful that we can talk about those things - even if sometimes they are hard subjects - although today wasn't.

So, Happy Anniversary sweetheart and I dedicate this song to you. Although this about Christ it is how I feel about my husband. The one who God put me with for the rest of our lives.

I Love You Mike and GEAUX Saints!

Yea, I'm alive!

So my friend Amy had to define what a blog is to me....you know, because good friends do that when one of you hasn't blogged in quite some time. We've both given each other the "Worst Blogger of the Year Award" and deserved it. Let me say - I love Amy. She is funny, smart and a sarcastic and I love her because she is exactly like me except for the funny and smart part which I am not. But I do have really good comebacks - although not near as good as my brother who is freaking hilarious. Not sure why I just posted that except to let her know that I'm gonna be blogging again! Thanks Amy for calling me back to reality.

So enjoy your day and I'll see you tomorrow (hopefully)

Holiday Time

So, the holidays are right around the corner! This means I get to have lots of fun with new headbands! I have made several for Halloween and am about to start some general fall and Christmas headbands. Totally cute!

I also made these blocks last year - so much fun and so cute. I plan on doing some for Christmas this year as well. Let me know if you'd like to order anything. Send an email to aggyexpressions@gmail.com.

Happy Holidays,

Wendy

Fun Weekend

Here I sit on a Saturday night with two of the most special people a mom could ask for. Me and the kiddos are having a great weekend together. Mike is at a prison in Louisiana and will be back tomorrow. We are almost done with Sports Reach for this year. He has one more day trip and then the weekends are free until next March. I'm really proud of him and all the guys on Texas Sports Reach for all they do. I don't tell him enough but they are making a difference in these inmates lives. Some of them do not have any visitors and the guys are the only outside people they see. This year has been really easy on us wives because many weekends have been rained out - especially this past spring. Thankfully someone else is going to do the scheduling next year and it will give Mike a break. I keep telling him it would be a perfect paid position for me :-)

Since the guys are gone Tami and the girls came over. We have not gotten to see them very much the past couple of months. It was great to hang out together and let the kids play. The weather is getting so nice even though it was raining again today! I will take it though. I am so very thankful for friends that understand me and that I can just sit and laugh with. We had a good time and when they left we headed over to Brandy and Amy's. Amy's parents are in town so we went to see them. They are so sweet and I'm thankful that Brandy has great in-laws.

Me and the kids also decorated the house for Halloween. I'm not a big Halloween person but I still love my decorations! Here a few pics of some things we have. I love my new ghost that I got in Canton. Have I mentioned lately that I love, love, love going to Canton. Of course, now that I'm working part time - there is not much money to spend there! I made the blocks on the mantle - another great idea from where else....Canton! They are super fun and I think I'll do some for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.

Now that I'm typing all this I realize this was a busy day - not to mention that we went to the donut store this morning and then Michael's, Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart! Then we came home and I cleaned. Not to bad for a lazy Saturday :-)

I'm praying for the Sports Reach guys as they prepare for tomorrow and pray for the inmates that they would hear the Word of God with open hearts and open minds.

Its not funny now....but it will be one day

So we've had 3 straight days of rain. I don't mean just a couple of showers I'm talking straight rain...We need it really bad but that is not the point of my story!

I've been working a lot the past couple of days and yesterday I wanted to take a nap really really bad. We told the kids that we were going to take a nap. Not to long after I laid down I heard our door beep. I knew someone had opened the door. I didn't worry about it. Then Kendall came in our room and Mike asked her what she was doing - I'm getting my blanket. Ok. Kendall shut the back door that is open. Ok she said. Then I heard the door beep again and got up to see what they were doing. Let me remind you - its raining outside! I get to the back door and Kendall is coming in the door with nothing on but a jacket! BUTT NAKED! Oh my goodness....so, I go outside and Cam is sitting on our patio table with his jacket and underwear on. They had put the umbrella up - put blankets all over the table and climbed up on the table. Can you say mad!!!!! I was livid! Seriously, what makes you kids think that sitting on a glass table in the pouring rain - naked - is ok???? So, we had a little chat about how dangerous that is and how you could get hurt, yada yada yada! It wasn't funny yesterday but I know it will be one day! Just a day in the life of my crazy kids who come up with crazy ideas like sitting in the rain under the umbrella.

Our little birthday Boy!

Happy Birthday Cameron! I can't believe you are four years old. You are such a handsome little boy and some people say you look like your Papaw and Uncle Brandy. I'll take that any day! You are so full of life and so happy. You are very funny and sensitive. You
love your sister! You tell me every day that you don't want to grow up because you want to be my little buddy and I tell you that you will always be my buddy no matter what. You have blessed our lives the last four years and completed our family. I pray that you continue to amaze us with your sayings and funny personality. We love you so much!

My boy is growing and is still saying some funny things and smart stuff to:

Cam to my mom: My father doesn't live in my house

Mom: Yes he does....

Cam: No, my Father, God and Jesus, live in Heaven.

Mom: Nonnie needs to potty

Cam: Don't forget to shake so you don't get your panties wet....

Cam: (wearing his new boots) I want to go to the Cowboys Stadi
um and see the horses and cows. (Sorry buddy - no cowboys at the Stadium)

Thank you Lord for blessing our family with both Kendall and Cameron. They are awesome kiddos and we love them so much!

Changes, Changes, Changes

I hope everyone has had a great summer. We are wrapping up our summer fun and getting ready for lots of changes. Kendall starts 1st grade and we couldn't be more excited. We got to meet her teacher last night and guess what??? She is from Louisiana and went to LSU! How could we not love her immediately! Actually, she was so nice and welcoming to us. Kendall is very excited because her friend Ashley is going to be in her class again this year.  I don't know what she would have done if Ashley were not in there. And, Cam will be going to "school" every day and he is so excited. He keeps telling me that he has to do his homework. I sure hope he is that excited when he really does start school. I'm excited for him and know that he will do great.

In other news, I have accepted a position with KiDs Beach Club. I am nervous and excited at the same time. This is such a great opportunity to watch God move. KBC is an after school program for kids 3-6 grades and I will be an Area Director. Basically, managing 20 clubs - although I don't have that many yet. Thank goodness - I might go mad if I had to do it all at once. I am also working part-time for Foster Grant. They sell sunglasses and reading glasses in stores like CVS, Walgreens, Kroger, Staples, Family Dollar, etc.  It is a merchandising position and will work really well with my schedule and with the kids. Unemployment was great for the summer but I am ready to get back to work and I'm very thankful that I have had the chance to stay home with the kids for a while. I will never get this time back with them and I really enjoyed having them - even if they did drive me crazy!

Mike and I also went to Michigan for his 20 year reunion. It was such a wonderful time and everyone was so nice. I was very nervous since I did not know anyone but it was awesome. We were able to go hiking, spend the day at Lake Superior, drive around the old base and just fun stuff. I have made some new friends and Mike has rekindled old friendships. I hope this is not the last time that we see all of these people. As well, Michigan was absolutely beautiful! I can't even describe how pretty it is with all of the trees and greenery. So unlike Dallas :-)

It has been a wonderful summer and now its back to reality for all of us! We are excited for another school year and another year of learning. Blessings to all of you and your families.
